HELICOPTER SKIING WITH KIM REICHELM
Girdwood, Alaska and the Tordrillo Mountain Lodge
A note from Kim:
I have skied in Alaska every year since 1991. I love it up there and I love the challenge the mountains put forth. Skiing in Alaska takes your breath away and can make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end. It’s not that skiing Alaska is dangerous but it’s VERY BIG. In the beginning I would go to Alaska to compete, judge, or work on the television broadcast for the World Extreme Skiing Championships. My season would not be complete if I didn’t ski in Alaska. 19 years later Alaska is still my favorite place to ski.
I met Mike Overcast and Dave Hamre in Valdez back in the beginning. Dave was the snow safety director for the World Extreme Skiing Championships, and Mike was part of the high angle safety team. I didn’t know much about big mountain skiing, so I decided to stay close to these two Alaskans who did. In 1997 Dave and Mike started Chugach Powder Guides (CPG) based out of Girdwood, Alaska. 11 years later CPG has grown to be a World Class Heli-Ski operation run by the best guides I’ve ever skied with. These guys are my brothers and with them I’m able to serve up a ski experience that is exhilarating, safe and unforgettable.
GIRDWOOD / CHUGACH RANGE
April 4-12, 2009 (7 day package)
or April 5-11, 2009 (5 day package)
Girdwood Heli Skiing - This group is limited to 4 seats. You get two guides. The lead guide is Greg Harms and I’m your tail guide. Greg always goes first. I always go last, I carry the shovel pack, and I back you up if you need help. I have radio communication with Greg at all times, and since he always goes first, he can guide us into the best and safest lines. We stay at the Alyeska Hotel at the base of the Alyeska Resort. On down days when we can’t fly, I guide you on the resort. Alyeska resort is one of the steepest resorts in North America. The Alyeska tram leaves from the Alyeska Hotel and travels over 2,000 feet to the top terminal, with the summit above that at over 3,900 ft.

Kings and Corn with Kim, Tordrillo Mountain Lodge
June 8-14, 2009
Kings and Corn
June in Alaska is the best time of year for corn snow. The lake has thawed and the planes have traded in their skis for floats. The days are long and we can ski and/or fish any time…. even at midnight. All access is by helicopter whether we are chasing Wild Rainbow Trout, King Salmon or endless runs of perfect corn snow.
The private lodge is the best place to create a private trip, a family gathering, or join our group if you’re looking for good company. When we’re not skiing or fishing we are enjoying a soak in the hot tub on the lake, a gourmet meal, or a fine glass of wine on the deck, watching sunsets that lasts for hours.
